With a streamlined brown body with dark blotches, a flat head and a rounded fin, this fish is recognized by many as Soon Hockin Hokkien.
Being a premium fish among Chinese especially in Cantonese restaurants, this fish has a very delicate meat texture and juicy sweet taste when steamed. It is also believed to be best eaten after child birth or surgeries for its healing properties.
